The experience of creating a video based on an interview was very helpful, in order to understand how to organize and how to edit a video portrait. Having only the sound of the interview initially, leaded me to create a narration with a beginning, middle and end. Once I knew the structure, order and objective of the film, it was easier for me to know the footage that I needed, and what exactly I was looking for in my shots.
The most difficult part of the process was editing, I did not have experience on it, so when I was logging my video on Final Cut, I did not label it by specific scenes or shots. This cost me a lot of time, because when I was editing, it took me a long time to find specific sequences or shots that I needed. The formatting of stills and videos from Internet also gave me a hard time, since I needed to change it and sometimes adjust the aspect radio, color and things I did not know before. I liked the content and narration in my project.
If I had the opportunity to go back, I would go and transcribe what was said in the interview, this would help me to improve the dialogue, and also to create better transitions and video edits. When you do not have the dialogue transcribed in front of you, It’s more difficult to properly make an edit and a transition that involves all the tracks you are using.

This gladiator trailer is an accurate and entertained representation of the Three Act Structure (Set Up, Development and Resolution) of this film. The editor shows the most important dramatic beats of every stage of the film, causing emotional impact, but at the same time narrating the story continuously.
The beginning of the trailer sets up the tone of the story. There is classical music on the background, which is clearly dramatic, letting us know that the movie is a drama. One of the first shots we see is a Close up of Maximus showing his confidence and strength, which lets us know that he is most likely the main character. After that we hear of screen that someone says; I am dying, then we hear that the emperor is telling Maximus that he will have the power of Rome. At this point we know the importance of Maximus in the film. Suddenly, different shots of the Emperor’s son are shown and we see the Emperor telling his son that he won’t be the next Emperor, at this point there is a striking Jump Cut of the emperor’s son, which drives our attention to him. Later in the trailer we realize he killed his own father, and we realize that he is the antagonist who is going to make Maximus’ life impossible.
This was the set up of the movie and now we know the main conflict in the film; Commodus, the new Emperor killed his own father to attain the power of Rome and then ordered to kill Maximus who was chosen by Commodus’ father to be the new Emperor. After the first minute of the trailer, the editor starts to show scenes of the development (second stage) of the film, where Maximus manages to survive and fights with the intention to meet Commodus and get revenge. The trailer shows this part of the film with intense music and action scenes, which enhance the fight scenes, where the audience is supposed to be excited and get attached to the main character who has lost everything in his life.
At the end of the trailer the music stops and we realize that Maximo achieves his goal of meeting Commodus. Unfortunately, we do not know what happens that is why it is a trailer, it is made with the intention to persuade the audience to go and watch the movie.

As I walk in the upper east side of New York City, I shut my other senses and focus on the sounds that I can perceive with my hearing. At first, all I can hear are the sounds of car engines, gas emissions and the sound of cars fractioning against the wind when they are on motion. These sounds are kind of rough, but they do not disturb your ear or attract your attention as soon as you hear them.
Unfortunately, there is a sound that attracts your attention as soon as you hear it, and is not pleasant. This is the sound of cars slowing down while pressing the brake, this a very edgy sound, it disturbs your ears and prevents you from perceiving other sounds, since you can hear it very often.
Fortunately, I also walked around central Park and there is a big contrast between the sounds inside and outside the park. As I go into the park, I start perceiving the sound of my steps. It is an amazing sound, it is soft but at the same time brittle. I felt like I could perceive the frequencies of the sound. The sound reproduces as if it was playing in slow motion. I also start perceiving the sound of the wind which I perceived like a neutral sound, it is not coarse neither smooth, but is really pleasant and peaceful. The sound of the wind hitting the tree leaves on the floor is probably the most smooth and flowing sound that I hear during my walk, it was pleasant and natural.
